Towards New Heights: Consultancy Bid for World’s Tallest Tower in Riyadh Moves Forward

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has taken a significant step forward with the Mega Tall Tower project, also named Rise Tower, by inviting global firms to bid for a consultancy contract to develop a new Central Business District in North Riyadh. This ambitious initiative, featuring the world’s tallest tower at 2 kilometers, has generated immense interest from leading engineering and consultancy firms worldwide. In response to this enthusiasm, PIF has extended the submission deadline to March 20, 2025, allowing more firms to participate in shaping this groundbreaking development. As part of the North Pole – Riyadh’s New Economic Hub, Rise Tower is set to become a defining landmark within an 18-square-kilometer master-planned district, strategically located west of King Khalid International Airport.

The sheer scale of Rise Tower redefines architectural boundaries, surpassing all existing supertall structures, including the 600-meter-high Abraj Al Bait Royal Clock Tower in Mecca and the 828-meter Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The tower will also eclipse the 1,000-meter-plus Jeddah Tower, currently under construction, further establishing Saudi Arabia as a global leader in innovative urban development. The project aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, aiming to position Riyadh as a world-class financial and commercial hub while showcasing advancements in engineering, sustainability, and smart city technology. Designed by UK-based architectural firm Foster + Partners, Rise Tower will integrate state-of-the-art infrastructure, energy-efficient solutions, and advanced materials to ensure structural integrity and environmental responsibility at an unprecedented height.

Beyond its record-breaking stature, the Rise Tower is envisioned as a catalyst for economic growth, attracting international businesses, investors, and tourists.
