Dubai World Trade Centre appointed Mace International Consultants (Dubai) to manage the delivery of Phase 1 of the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) expansion at Expo City Dubai. The USD 2.7 billion expansion is a key part of the ongoing development at Expo City, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for events, exhibitions, and international trade. Mace International, a prominent construction and consultancy firm, will oversee the construction, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
Phase 1 involves expanding the Dubai Exhibition Centre by adding 140,000 square metres of exhibition space, almost doubling the current capacity from 58,000 square metres. This increase in space will allow for the hosting of larger and more diverse events, conferences, and exhibitions, elevating Dubai’s standing as a premier destination for global business gatherings.
The expanded Dubai Exhibition Centre is set to drive significant economic growth by attracting more international events and fostering business opportunities. Located within Expo City, which already boasts world-class infrastructure, this expansion supports Dubai’s long-term vision of becoming a leading global destination for business, tourism, and large-scale exhibitions. Phase 1 will be a crucial step in establishing Expo City as a top venue for major international events.
