November 1st 2019 marked a milestone for MDM Publishing

MDM Publishing Ltd is celebrating the milestone of achieving 20 years in business.

MDM is privately owned and located in the heart of the Somerset countryside in the remote hamlet of Maperton near Wincanton, in Somerset, UK. The company was formed in November 1999 by business partners Dave Staddon and Mark Seton, who continue to run the business today. The company currently has a portfolio of five print magazines and seven websites and is the world’s leading publishers of print magazines in the fire and safety industry. Dave and Mark continue to provide day-to-day leadership and are always looking for new opportunities to move the business forward.

After setting up MDM Publishing Ltd they launched International Fire Protection in February 2000 which quickly cemented itself as the “must-read” title for the fire protection industry and was followed in March 2002 by Asia Pacific Fire which proved to be a huge success. International Fire Fighter quickly followed in February 2004 and following a period of consolidation, Gulf Fire was launched at Intersec, Dubai in January 2016 and received instant approval from the industry. Following demand from the UK readership, and advertisers of the existing titles, UK Fire was launched with the first issue published in May 2018.

The partners put the success of their business down to listening to the requirements of both the readership and advertisers, understanding that the two are inextricably linked. The success of all the MDM titles has been achieved through the hard work of the strong editorial and sales teams.

Mark Seton commented, ‘We have brought together the best salespeople in the industry who work closely together with our unrivalled editorial team to ensure we have a mix of features that meet the needs of readers and advertisers’.

Dave Staddon continued, ‘Our salespeople have a combined total of over 100 years of experience in the industry while our editorial team have amassed almost 150 years of global fire experience between them. By way of celebration, the team enjoyed a relaxing lunch and a few drinks to celebrate their achievements and are looking forward to shaping the industry for the next 20 years.
