Oman Cables Industry (OCI), the Omani leading company in the cables and systems industry – part of Prysmian Group – is participating in Oman’s Sustainability Week, which will be running till 16 March 2023. The company will present the latest innovations in solar, wind and hydrogen products and services, and its continuous focus on grid hardening to support the energy transition towards a decarbonized future energy system, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Through its participation in this year’s edition, the company will showcase its innovative and sustainable products at its Stand #1445. The stand will show Oman Cables’ efforts to become a Renewable Excellence Center for the Middle East.
The Company will also showcase the new PRYSOLAR cables, following the launch at Middle East Energy last week in Dubai. Prysmian PRYSOLAR is the result of the extensive Prysmian Group R&D efforts to face the most unpredictable challenges coming from the massively increasing solar applications market and anticipate the future. Thanks to an innovative and first-in-the-industry test protocol that certifies long-term resistance in water for DC cables, Prysmian PRYSOLAR offers extreme climate strength and a 30-year lifetime, which for customers translates into reliable return on investment, increased operation efficiency of assets, reduced OPEX and lower levelized cost of energy.
Cinzia Farisè, CEO of Oman Cables Industry and CEO of Prysmian Group MEAT Region said: ‘The transition towards renewable energy is connected to the capability and ability to transmit and dispatch the energy from one place to another from where it is produced to where it is consumed. Developing reliable and capable grid infrastructure for power transmission and distribution is the key for the integration of renewables. Our Company is among the enablers of this transition, towards a decarbonized future energy system. By our wide product offering to the market, we have an important role in the energy transition. Our Excellence Center and its innovative and sustainable products will support the energy transition in the Sultanate and in the Region.’
Oman Cables Industry continues to build on the sustainability legacy of Prysmian Group and implement the environmental pillars of its regional ESG plan, as the manufacturer’s Regional Sustainability Steering Committee together with 39 Sustainability Ambassadors across the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India – ensures that sustainability remains at the core of all operations.
