Company Overview
For over 100 years, Safety Components has maintained the highest reputation for product quality, innovation, diversity, and on-time delivery. The company designs and produces textiles for fire service, military, outdoor fabrics, aerospace escape slides, fuel cells, and more. Safety Components also manufactures a wide array of highly technical fabrics for industrial and commercial applications such as filtration, specialty military, composites, tire manufacturing, and coated fabrics.
It is the company’s mission to develop innovative and cutting-edge fabrics that maximize the highest quality and highest strength raw materials available in today’s marketplace. Safety Components’ product development staff works alongside customers and valued suppliers worldwide to design products that are functional, meet customer specifications, and ultimately raise the bar of product performance.
A leader in innovation, Safety Components was the first to employ ballistic grade Kevlar filament in outer shell fabrics by developing a revolutionary blend of military-grade filament Kevlar and producer-dyed Nomex/Kevlar fibers to deliver higher reinforcements against rips, tears and abrasion.
Technology in PPE has continued to advance. Lighter, stronger, more flexible FR fabrics coupled with ergonomic garment designs have revolutionized the way firefighters perform while wearing turnout gear.
Filament Twill Technology™, developed and patented by Safety Components, can be found in international outer shells like PBI Max™ LP, Nomex 360™, and Armor AP™ and in thermal liners like Glide Ice™. Flexible fabrics woven with filament and spun yarns in a twill design are making fabrics made of 90 – 100% spun yarns in a rip-stop weave a thing of the past.
