TEXPORT®, one of the world’s market leaders in the design and manufacture of specialist high performance functional clothing, has put in place the foundations for continued successful growth to meet customer demand from its headquarters in Salzburg.
New product enhancements consolidate TEXPORT®’s leading role
TEXPORT®’s founder and Member of the Executive Board, Otmar Schneider, shared the philosophy behind the company’s phenomenal international success: “Since 1992, I’ve always focused on a single objective and that hasn’t changed. Creating the very best functional clothing as technically possible is the driving force behind TEXPORT®.”
The company’s commitment to always use the most advanced materials and techniques for its products has resulted in a number of upgrades and features have been incorporated into its range of solutions in 2019. These include revising the Fire Breaker Action range and developing the Fire Survivor collection. The technical enhancements have now been extended to the Fire Explorer, Fire Phoenix, Basic and Twin product portfolios. These upgrades focus on increased durability and improved fit. By standardising the product ranges, customers now have a better overview of the portfolio. The revised design of the Fire Breaker Action and Fire Survivor models has been deliberately structured so that parts of the clothing can be replaced or repaired quicker than before, if necessary.
“We put a lot of consideration into the development of our products. We of course retain features and materials that have proven to perform in practice, such as our established HPX System®, which now makes it much easier and cheaper to replace a zip. Our AIR BLOCKER® – an insulation system in the shoulder area – padded, ergonomically shaped knee pad, ERGOPAD®, or patented, highly breathable reflective stripes, TEXPORT® Triple Fabric®, are also still available to customers,” says Head of Sales, Uwe Heinemann, who also described some innovative new features: “These include the high-performance friction protection, TXA, as well as the switch from Nomex® Tough™ to the new Nomex® NXT material. For high-tech textiles, in particular, emergency personnel can always rely on finding the most efficient fabrics and membranes available, such as the IB-TEX® fabric exclusively produced by IBENA® for TEXPORT® which combines extremely high mechanical performance with a unique aesthetic. The new PBI® NEO® fabrics are highly resistant to washing and like all PBI® fabrics, will not crack or shrink, even in extreme heat. Our close partnership with Gore ensures GORE-TEX Moisture Barriers deliver breathability and water resistance at the highest technical level possible.”
New production facility ensures continued high quality standards
The amazingly good weather felt like the best of omens during the official opening of the new production facility in Macedonia (Europe). This four million-Euro project was opened on 29 August 2019, attended by many representatives from politics and business. Nicole Heinemann, Member of the Executive Board with major responsibility for implementing this strategically important project, was delighted by the success of the ceremony: “Our high-quality products are rapidly conquering new markets around the world. This expansion was an inevitable consequence of our quest to maintain our high standards in future, as well as the option of customised production.”
The production facility for 460 staff, with around 200 more to join soon, represents the industry benchmark in terms of ergonomics, sustainability and logistics. Unusually for the textile sector, TEXPORT® is deliberately dispensing with shift work. Otherwise, it would be unable to achieve its high quality standards and high degree of customisation. TEXPORT®’s new factory is impressive and demonstrates that uncompromising quality standards do not have to be at the expense of people and the environment.
