Rua Al Madinah Holding Co., a Public Investment Fund (PIF) signed a consultancy services contract aimed at engineering designs for 19 hotel towers within the fourth urban settlement. These towers are expected to accommodate over 8,000 hotel rooms as part of the City Visions initiative. Jacobs, a prominent design firm, has been tasked with providing design services for 12 hotel brands within the expansive mixed-use development led by Rua Al Madinah Holding in Madinah City.
In addition to Jacobs’ involvement, the developer has sealed a comprehensive deal worth USD 80 million with various international design, engineering consultation, and supervision consultancy firms. These firms will oversee the construction and management of hotels within the fourth and fifth Super Blocks of the Rua Al Madinah project. The project also includes provisions for restaurants and cafes managed by global operating companies, enhancing the hospitality experience for visitors and residents alike.
Furthermore, KEO International Consultants have been awarded a key contract to oversee the implementation of the fifth Super Block. This move underscores the commitment to delivering the project in line with the highest international standards and specifications. Progress on the infrastructure for the Rua Al Madinah project has already reached 25%, demonstrating significant advancement in the development process.
Spanning an estimated 1.5 million square meters, the Rua Al Madinah project aims to provide 47,000 hospitality units by 2030. This initiative aligns closely with the strategic objectives of the Hajj and Umrah sectors, as well as Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance the country’s tourism infrastructure. The project will feature crowd safety features, new modes of mobility, and ample parking to ensure convenient access to mosques, residences, and commercial spaces. Moreover, a significant focus will be placed on enhancing the food, beverage, and retail offerings, with the retail area covering more than 95,000 square meters to address the current shortage of options in the central area.
