The fantastic city of Chicago will host the next Tall Building Fire Safety Conference in 2017.
Recent Tall Building fires have made this conference even more relevant and should act at the perfect place to meet and network with colleagues from around the World.
Continuing the popular cross functional format of the 2015 conference, the main conference will be complimented by three themed ‘breakeout’ seminars on the related topics of:
1/. Tall Building Security
2/. Tall Building Resilince
3/. Tall Building Firefighting
The theme of the 2017 conference will be Evacuation Strategies.
The conference will seek to explore and challenge the current status of simultaneous, phased, and delayed strategies for Business Use Buildings. With the massive increase in Tall Residential Buildings, the suitability and performance of ‘protect in place’ and ‘stay put’ policies will be challenged and debated. New approaches such as ‘evacuate and disperse’ with the aid of new technology and smart phone apps will be detailed and demonstrated.
The main conference will have four sections:

Fire Risk Management of Evacuation
Use of Fire Alarm and Detection in Evacuation
Day 2:
Wayfinding, Human Behaviour and Means of Escape
Fire Containment and New Technology
